About The Position

The Nurse Manager role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and preferably a Master's degree. The position involves progressive leadership experience, current New York State licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse, and certifications in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). The role also requires completion of de-escalation training, knowledge of regulatory guidelines from The Joint Commission, Department of Health, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, strong assessment and judgment skills, and excellent communication and customer service abilities. The Nurse Manager must be able to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and possess basic computer skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
• Three (3) to five (5) years progressive leadership experience
• Current New York State License as a Registered Professional Nurse
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Completion of de-escalation training within 90 days of employment and every two years thereafter
• Knowledge of guidelines of the regulatory bodies - The Joint Commission, Department of Health and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
• Assessment skills
• Ability to make safe judgement calls
• Strong communication skills for in-servicing the staff
• Excellent customer service skills
• Punctual
• Effective written and verbal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Basic computer skills
• Keep commitments, and when unable gives notice
