About The Position

This position is full time. The Nurse Manager is Responsible for supervising all aspects of the facility Nursing Departments. Responsible for the delivery of quality care to all patients admitted to The Meadows Psychiatric Center. This position functions as the Nurse Manager and has 24 hour a day, seven days a week responsibility for treatment services provided by the nursing department. Responsibilities include providing administrative management, on-going staff training and supervision, evaluation of all nursing staff: nurse supervisors, charge nurses, LPNs, MHT Managers, and MHTs, and prioritization and delegation of duties; daily patient chart/medical record audits; staff scheduling; and performing direct patient care services supplementally, as needed. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the implementation and adherence to policies, procedures, managing staff performance through coaching and supervision, execution of performance reviews, improvement plans, and corrective actions. The Nurse Manager ensures timely and effective communication to their staff through use of shift reports, unit meetings and 1:1 communications. The Nurse Manager serves as a key member of hospital operational leadership and must work in cooperation with physicians, staff and other department managers. This position facilitates quarterly cross-functional meetings with nurses and MHTs; participates in process improvement teams and other committees as needed; participates in treatment team, shift report, safety huddle, restraint reviews, program development and innovations to enhance the quality of services provided to patients. The Meadows Psychiatric Center is a 119 bed inpatient behavioral health facility with numerous outpatient programs which span the entire continuum of care. The beautiful 52-acre rural campus is located minutes outside of State College in Central PA. The Meadows provides comprehensive care to children through geriatrics.

Requirements

  • Current PA Registered Nurse license required.
  • Three years nursing management experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Five years nursing management experience preferred.
