About The Position

At Clearfork Academy, we provide high-quality substance abuse and mental health treatment for adolescents and young adults. We're looking for an experienced, adaptable, and solutions-focused Nurse Manager who thrives in a fast-paced behavioral health environment and enjoys balancing direct patient care with leadership responsibilities. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys variety, takes initiative, leads by example, and can confidently guide a team while responding to changing patient and operational needs.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Texas RN license
  • Minimum three years of nursing experience, preferably in behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, or psychiatric care (required)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong knowledge of nursing standards, medication administration, and behavioral health best practices
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation
  • Excellent critical-thinking, leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and regulatory compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Public Health, or related field preferred
  • Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria and addiction treatment principles preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care, including patient assessments, medication administration, and clinical documentation
  • Monitor patient health status by completing vital signs, withdrawal assessments (CIWA/COWS), safety assessments, and nursing evaluations
  • Collaborate with physicians, counselors, Recovery Coaches, and the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide exceptional patient care
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the nursing team
  • Assist with staff training, onboarding, competency evaluations, and performance support
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, Texas regulations, Joint Commission standards, and nursing best practices
  • Monitor medication administration, inventory, documentation, medication error reporting, and infection control procedures
  • Assist with admissions, patient orientations, laboratory coordination, and nursing documentation
  • Interviews all new nursing candidates
  • Help manage nursing supplies, equipment, and daily operational needs
  • Maintain on-call availability for emergencies and staffing support as needed
