About The Position

Seeking a Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department Observation Unit at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a full-time position (40 hours weekly) with day shifts. The Nurse Manager is responsible for organizing and supervising department staff, programs, budgets, schedules, payroll, and equipment. They will provide leadership through communication, relationship-building, a strong understanding of the healthcare environment, and business skills. The Nurse Manager acts as an extension of the Director, implementing hospital policies, procedures, and standards within their managed unit. The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department, observing patients expected to be hospitalized for less than 24 hours. Nurses on this unit care for a variety of patients including those with chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, post-cardiac catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider daily from 7 AM to 5 PM to offer support and high-level care. New Graduate RNs are welcome.

Requirements

Graduate of accredited BSN or MSN program
Three (3) years nursing experience required
One (1) year charge nurse or supervisory experience required
BLS for Healthcare Provider required
ACLS required within 12 months of hire

Nice To Haves

Master's degree preferred
If no current Master's degree and not pursuing, must obtain national certification in leadership within 2 years
National specialty certification and/or National certification in Nursing Leadership preferred
