Nurse Manager - Medical Acute Care
About The Position
Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Nurse Manager for a Medical/Surgical unit. The role provides 24/7 operational and clinical leadership, overseeing patient care delivery, staffing, quality outcomes, team development, regulatory readiness, and budget performance. The Nurse Manager partners with physicians, nursing leaders, educators, and frontline staff to drive excellence in patient care while supporting shared governance, professional nursing practice, and employee engagement. Requirements
- Georgia RN license.
- BSN or MSN.
- 3–5 years of RN experience, preferably in acute care.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Obtain professional certification within two years of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree.
- Two or more years of nursing leadership experience.
- Medical/Surgical leadership background.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of a Medical/Surgical nursing unit.
- Manage staffing, resource allocation, and departmental budgets.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and evaluate nursing team members.
- Ensure high-quality patient outcomes, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and nursing excellence.
- Support Professional Nursing Governance and Unit Practice Council initiatives.
