About The Position

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Medical Surgical-Pediatric Unit at Wilson Medical Center. This role is responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager for Medical Surgical-Pediatric provides leadership for their designated area of responsibility in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Administration, the Nurse Practice Act, and the Code of Ethics for Nursing, in alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan of the UHS Nursing Division. Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Nursing
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible, relevant clinical experience
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field
  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty (Nursing Administration and/or clinical practice area)

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and evaluates patient and staff data collection systems and the processes to support the practice nursing and the delivery of patient/client/resident care.
  • Develops, maintains, and evaluates an environment that empowers and supports the professional nurse in analysis of assessment data and in decision to determine relevant problems and diagnosis.
  • Develops, maintains, and evaluates information systems and processes that promote desired, patient/client/resident-defined professional and organizational outcomes.
  • Develops, maintains, and evaluates organizational systems that facilitate and support implementation of plans and the delivery of care across the continuum.
  • Evaluates the plan and its progress in relationship to the attainment of outcomes.
  • Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and nursing services administration.
  • Evaluates personal performance based on professional practice standards, relevant statues, rules and regulations, and organizational criteria.
  • Maintains and demonstrates current knowledge of healthcare organizations to advance nursing practice and the provision of quality healthcare services.
  • Provides a professional environment.
  • Bases decisions and actions on ethical principles.
  • Collaborates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Supports research and its integration into nursing practice and the delivery of health care services.
  • Evaluates and administers the resources of nursing services.
