The Nurse Manager will provide comprehensive nursing care, including assessments, treatment plans, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. The role includes assisting medical doctors as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid RN license in the state of practice.
  • Ability to use EMRs effectively.
  • Working knowledge of state regulations related to services rendered.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 or more years of experience supervising medical staff preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience working with substance use/psychiatric demographics in residential or inpatient settings preferred.
  • Willingness to obtain an approved nursing certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with operations and medical teams to ensure nursing staff and services meet regulatory and agency standards of care.
  • Manage the nursing schedule adhering to the agency’s established staffing structures for full-time, part-time, and PRN positions; ensure each shift employs one RN and one LPN.
  • Maintain a regular Monday to Friday schedule while also being on-call 24/7 to cover any LPN/RN shifts that need coverage.
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Director to ensure nursing staff compliance with policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensure nursing staff follow established detox protocols, complete vitals per protocols, and accurately complete COWS/CIWA assessments on time.
  • Oversee efficient and effective admission processing and streamline admissions for unanticipated times.
  • Ensure that nursing staff maintain comprehensive and accurate EMR and MAR documentation.
  • Manage the DEA log and narcotic count sheet.
  • Conduct regular nursing chart audits to ensure quality of care and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to medical preparation for surveys; interact with state reviewers and provide needed feedback and documentation.
  • Work with the Program Director to meet nursing staffing needs and ensure nurses understand their scope of practice.
  • Respond to and effectively resolve client and staff concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
