Requirements

Passion for Emergency Room Nursing
5+ years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience in Emergency Department
2+ years of progressive nurse leadership experience in an Emergency Department
Clinical expertise in Emergency Nursing, both adult and pediatric, computer skills in Microsoft suite, excellent communication skills. Knowledge of regulatory agencies and best practices.
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required
New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required.
CEN preferred and required within 6 months of hire.
NEA required within one year of hire.

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred

NEA preferred

Responsibilities

Responsible for 24/7 operations of the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit.
Manage, lead, and support the staff members of the unit, promoting safe nursing practice and intervening as needed.
Maintain operational aspects of the unit including participating in budget preparation, monitoring resources.
Collaborate with human resources to hire and evaluate staff and resolve issues.
Attend management meetings and participate on departmental committees.
Serve as a clinical and technical resource and role model for staff, applying knowledge to daily practice.
