About The Position

The Nurse Manager ensures the highest degree of quality care by planning, organizing, and leading the overall operation of care services in accordance with resident needs, government regulations, and internal policies and procedures. The role oversees resident care coordination, medical assessments, medication administration and documentation, care planning, and the delegation of nursing tasks to direct care staff. It also leads quality improvement activities focused on wellness, clinical and medication management, risk management, staff training, and safety and survey preparedness.

Responsibilities

Oversee care coordination for all residents, including coordinating service plans, activating appropriate resources, communicating with physicians or pharmacies about medication changes or issues, following up when residents are admitted to the hospital, and completing necessary paperwork.
Complete medical assessments for each new admission and for ongoing changes in condition.
Provide recommendations to the Executive Director on new admissions.
Manage medication administration, medication records, and medication documentation in the MARs.
Maintain resident, medical management, and care plan documentation.
Lead and delegate nursing tasks to direct care staff in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory requirements.
Identify and direct quality improvement activities focused on wellness, clinical management, medication management, risk management, staff training, and safety and survey preparedness.
