About The Position

A healthcare facility near Mankato, MN is seeking a full-time Nurse Manager to join their Medical/Surgical department. This role involves maintaining the standards of nursing care, implementing hospital and nursing department policies, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure patients receive evidence-based nursing care for optimal outcomes. The Nurse Manager must maintain clinical competency in Medical Surgical patient care and ensure their staff does the same. Responsibilities include reviewing and revising departmental policies and procedures, coordinating new staff orientation, creating staff schedules, and revising staffing patterns as necessary.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota or ability to obtain prior to hire
• Previous Medical/Surgical experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a formal leadership role (e.g. charge nurse, team lead, assistant manager, nurse manager)

Responsibilities

• Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department
• Works collaboratively with health care team to assure patients receive nursing care that is evidenced based and allows for optimal patient outcomes
• Maintains clinical competency and expertise in Medical Surgical patient care, and ensures staff maintains clinical competency in care of the Medical Surgical patient
• Reviews and revises departmental policies and procedures as needed to maintain quality
• Responsible for coordination and planning of the orientation of new staff, creates staff schedules and revises staffing patterns as necessary
