About The Position

Baylor Scott and White Institute for Rehabilitation, a joint venture with Select Medical, is seeking a Full-time Nurse Manager for their Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in Dallas, TX. This hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care for individuals facing complex medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges resulting from conditions such as brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. Requirements

  • Valid State RN License required.
  • Three to five years of experience, including supervisory experience, required.
  • BSN or enrollment in a BSN program required.
  • Certified BLS before hire date required.
  • Certified ACLS or completion in the first 6 months of employment required.

Nice To Haves

  • CRRN required after meeting eligibility requirements.
  • Clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Chief Nursing Officer and direct assigned nursing personnel.
  • Serve as a resource person and consultant to ensure the plan of care for the patient population.
  • Possess specialized knowledge and skills to facilitate patient treatment and staff development.
  • Provide and oversee patient care.
  • Implement hospital and department philosophy and objectives.
  • Provide leadership during times of crisis to assure continuity of care and a productive work environment.
  • Maintain approved standards of patient care, collaborating with appropriate persons for continuity of care under the guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Communicate clinical issues, as they relate to service or program development, to the CNO.
  • Promote clinical development, competency, and expertise in staff to maximize patient outcomes.
  • Evaluate performance of professional and non-licensed nursing personnel.
  • Cooperate in interviewing prospective staff.
  • Assure that all staff are accountable for documenting care provided, patient family teaching, and discharge planning on patients to which they are assigned.
  • Contribute to the smooth functioning of the unit by providing direction to staff, other departments, and families as needed.
