About The Position

Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and part of the UHS Healthcare System. It has been providing quality healthcare to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003, specializing in the treatment of adolescents, children, and adult populations. In addition to in-patient services, they offer out-patient programs. Wellstone is currently looking for a Nurse Manager for their Nursing Department. The Nurse Manager is a registered nurse who shares delegated responsibility with the Chief Nursing Officer in all matters related to program issues, unit staff, patient management, and daily FTEs. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for the units they are assigned, including accountability of staff. They will participate in the hiring process and work with Staff Development in developing education for staff. This position assists the Chief Nursing Officer with compliance to hospital policies and procedures. This position supervises various Mental Health Technicians, LPNs, and RNs and is a safety-sensitive position. This is a salaried, exempt position. Hours may vary.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Licensure in the State of Indiana
  • 1-3 years experience in Nursing, preferably in Behavioral Health.
  • Must have or be able to take and pass CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) and CPR.
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check, CPS check, and drug test.
  • Must be an effective communicator both written and verbal.
  • Current license to practice nursing in State of Facility/Hospital (or eligible to receive or renew).
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5-65yrs+ (but NOT required.)

Responsibilities
