Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing BSN required; MSN or related master’s degree preferred
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Massachusetts
  • BLS certification
  • Skills & Competencies: Strong clinical knowledge and leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of inpatient nursing experience
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership Implement and ensure compliance with Nursing Practice Guidelines.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and staff participation in shared governance.
  • Support professional development through education, certifications, and involvement in nursing organizations.
  • Operational & System Coordination Align departmental goals with LHMC’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Use data to guide daily operations and performance improvements.
  • Foster collaboration within and across departments.
  • Communicate effectively to keep staff informed and engaged.
  • Quality Improvement Lead initiatives to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience.
  • Monitor quality metrics (e.g., NDNQI, Core Measures) and collaborate with teams to address opportunities.
  • Support compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Human Resources Leadership Recruit, hire, develop, and retain top nursing talent.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support ongoing staff education.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that values creativity and celebrates accomplishments.
  • Ensure current licensure and certifications for all staff.
  • Budget & Resource Management Participate in budget development and manage expenses responsibly.
  • Implement cost‑effective staffing and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Professional Growth & Organizational Engagement Pursue continuous learning and professional development.
  • Support community engagement and uphold LHMC’s guiding principles.
  • Maintain excellent customer service and contribute to quality-improvement activities.
