About The Position

The Clinical Nursing Manager is responsible for the management of clinical nursing practices and patient care delivery on the assigned unit(s). The role functions include management of human, fiscal, material, support and systems resources while achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department’s daily operations. The Clinical Nursing Manager role demonstrates a high level of integrity, willingness to take on new challenges and prioritizes associate engagement. This position consistently promotes a positive work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers. The Clinical Nursing Manager supports associate development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years RN Experience required
  • Previous Leadership experience required- min 1yr
  • Previous OR experience required.
  • Must have previous experience circulating and/or scrubbing multiple services
  • 3 years RN experience, required
  • 1-year clinical leadership experience, required
  • High School GED required
  • A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN), required
  • Current RN License to practice in state of employment as applicable, required
  • BLS through the American Heart Association
  • Must sit for appropriate board certification within six months of hire or transfer into the role. Certification must be passed/obtained within two years of hire or transfer into the role.
  • Clinical and/or Leadership certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer.

  • Masters Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate staffing plan matching competency with patient acuity
  • Provide direct oversight of associates to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and nursing practice.
  • Maintain clinical RN competency
  • Conduct on evaluation of productivity and collaborate with finance to forecast revenue and expenses to prepare and manage the unit/department’s budget
  • Coach the staff to build confidence and encourage professional growth.
  • Influence others in fostering a healthy work environment
  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs/ practices for department associates.
  • Model professionalism and leadership within the department.
  • Conducting training for Clinical Coordinators, Charge RNs, and staff members.
  • Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
  • Oversight of the staff schedule and call schedule.
  • Support the Charge Nurse and the perioperative and surgical teams
  • Fill occasional gaps in staffing.
  • Assist with schedules and Pay Roll
  • Occurrence Report Follow up
