About The Position

Provides operations & / or optimization leadership to professional & / or frontline staff, supervisors & / or managers; Retains accountability for staff coordination, training, hiring, performance, regulatory compliance & results of assigned department(s); Develops departmental plans, including organizational priorities; Controls resources, effectiveness & policy formation in area of responsibility; Collaborates with larger teams of health professionals to plan for long-term patient care needs. Operations-focus: Directly manages department(s) / service line; Decisions are guided by resource availability as informed by operational need, functional objectives & clinical drivers of department; Responsible for driving outcomes through the daily management of resources; Primarily patient facing. Optimization-focus (advance, improve, enhance, leverage): Manages indirect or patient care department /program; Priorities are guided by the operational & clinical needs of patient care areas; Develops plans in concert with Nursing Operations Managers in support of the department functional objectives & clinical drivers where support is assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice / employment.
• Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing required within 24 months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license where required by assignment.
• 3-5 years clinical experience

Nice To Haves

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Leadership experience & / or other experience / licensure / certifications aligned with area of responsibility & assignment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall management of the department’s daily operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Ensures that care is provided through individual attention and holistic care while meeting each patient and family’s specific needs that promote the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the patient.
• Shows initiative and creativity in problem solving through active collaboration with members of the health care team, sees what needs to be done, brings it to the attention of individual(s) who can get it done, or independently does it without being asked or told.
• Develops strategies that maintain high visibility with the clinical care team on all shifts.
• Acts independently & appropriately within license, scope of knowledge & experience in practice area.

• Supports the standards set forth in the Trinity Health’s Code of Conduct by creating an atmosphere of commitment to legal and ethical standards, and as directed, implementing external and internal audit recommendations.
• Monitors activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations JCAHO requirements, and ABC policies and procedures.
