The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides medical services for complex acute and chronic health issues, such as trauma, high-risk obstetrics, sepsis, GI bleeds, strokes, and more. As Nurse Manager, you will manage and deliver exceptional nursing care to patients in the ICU. You will use your extensive knowledge and skills to supervise and provide clinical direction to maintain and ensure quality outcomes. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Three years of recent nursing clinical experience with at least one year of healthcare management experience
  • High degree of clinical expertise in specialty area managed

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Two years healthcare management experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.
  • Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
  • Supervise caregivers and promote development.
  • Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes.
  • Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.
  • Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.
  • Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.
