About The Position

Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a registered nurse for the Critical Care Unit. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience or an interest in providing care for medical/surgical ICU patients and cardiothoracic surgical patients. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available, and relocation assistance is provided to those who meet the specified criteria. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. This role is part of a 10-week Transition to Practice (TTP) program focused on orientation and skill acquisition for Medical-Surgical areas. For new graduates, this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree - Nursing (Required)
  • Registered Nurse License (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous acute care experience (Preferred)
  • Experience or an interest in providing care for medical/surgical ICU patients and cardiothoracic surgical patients.
