Nurse Manager Behavioral Health
About The Position
We’re seeking a Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health to provide 24-hour accountability for patient care, staff performance, clinical quality, regulatory compliance, and daily operations within an inpatient behavioral health environment. This role involves leading nursing operations within an inpatient behavioral health setting, developing, coaching, and mentoring a multidisciplinary nursing team, and taking ownership of patient safety, quality, staffing, and unit performance. The position also drives evidence-based practice and continuous performance improvement, offering an opportunity to advance into broader Nurse Manager leadership.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of nursing experience
- Nursing degree (BSN)
- Current Maryland RN license or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure
- BLS certification
- Experience in an inpatient behavioral health environment
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and coordination of behavioral health unit operations
- Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care
- Establish performance expectations and objectives for unit personnel
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff through rounds, team meetings, and performance improvement activities
- Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to address patient-care and operational priorities
