About The Position

Via Christi St. Francis is seeking a Nurse Intern for their Cardiothoracic Progressive Care Unit. This PRN night shift position offers associates tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University. The intern will deliver essential patient care, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, observe patient status and responses, document and report observations to a preceptor, assist in developing care plans, and support unit operations by preparing and transporting patients for diagnostic services and ensuring a safe, clean environment.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High school diploma/GED required.
Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

Support patients’ well-being by assisting with activities of daily living and accurately monitoring vital signs.
Observe patient status and responses firsthand.
Document and report patient observations directly to your preceptor.
Assist your preceptor in developing comprehensive care plans, using reports on test results and patient observations to help shape clinical outcomes.
Prepare and transport patients for diagnostic services.
Ensure a safe, clean environment for healing.
