About The Position

Responsible for the oversight of the facility daily staffing requirements, assisting in the monitoring of unit performance and compliance with hospital policies and procedures, monitor compliance with Joint Commission rules and regulations, making rounds to monitor patient safety, providing leadership and clinical problem solving, and aid in training as needed. Responsibilities also include providing direct and ongoing support to staff with regard to conflict resolution and policy compliance, assuring quality of patient care is provided in accordance with nursing standards and is reflected in accurate documentation, assisting with direct patient care as necessary to ensure all patient’s needs are met, and contributing to the development of nursing staff by observing work, answering questions, explaining procedures, demonstrating techniques and intervening where necessary to correct deficiencies.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Associate of Science Degree in Nursing required
  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum (3) years clinical experience
  • Minimum (2) years in an acute care setting
  • Ability to project a professional image
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Critical care experience preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
