About The Position
As a Nurse Extern, you will develop nursing skills through a partnership with an experienced Registered Nurse and gain hands-on experience performing direct patient care. The role is in the Family Birth Center at Mon Medical Center Main Campus.
Requirements
- Experience with nursing fundamentals in a lab and/or clinical setting, demonstrated by a completed nursing fundamentals skill check-off.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation credential.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 10 lbs, with a maximum lift of 25 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of a registered nurse, collect comprehensive data relevant to the healthcare consumer’s health or situation.
- Under the direction of a registered nurse, analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
- Under the direction of a registered nurse, identify expected outcomes for an individualized plan of care.
- Under the direction of a registered nurse, develop a plan prescribing strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
- Under the direction of a registered nurse, implement the identified plan.
- Under the direction of a registered nurse, evaluate progress toward attaining outcomes.
