About The Position
This is a developmental program for nursing students seeking to develop varied clinical skills across multiple nursing specialties. The position participates in a guided training and development program aligned with the scope outlined by the state-specific Board of Nursing. The Nurse Extern provides expanded clinical experience for RN nursing students and assists Registered Nursing staff with patient care activities, including participating in care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, and reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program.
- Completed the first clinical rotation.
- AHA BLS certification.
- No prior experience required.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a guided training and development program aligned with the scope outlined by the state-specific Board of Nursing.
- Assist Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities.
- Participate in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation.
- Report significant observations to a Registered Nurse.
