The Nurse Executive (Women's Health Clinic) is responsible for directing patient care by planning, organizing, directing, and reviewing work to provide safe, quality, comprehensive, and evidence-based nursing care. This role involves assigning and directing tasks to staff, providing information and training, identifying opportunities for improvement, and revising policies and procedures. The Nurse Executive also participates in ongoing education and training, coordinates interdisciplinary patient care, and manages supplies and equipment. Maintaining personal skill sets and licensure to lead by example, planning work schedules, assessing and directing work assignments to improve workflow, and conducting staff preparedness and contingency planning are key aspects of this position. Additionally, the role involves coordinating orientation and training, designing and evaluating orientation and competency assessments, ensuring compliance with mandatory in-services, and providing opportunities for staff development. The Nurse Executive coordinates infection control and safety activities, assists with action plans for safety concerns, and participates in hospital committees, disseminating information and preparing reports. The position also ensures compliance with quality programs, conditions of participation, and identifies opportunities for client care improvements. Management of the annual budget, planning work schedules to meet objectives, and coordinating credentialing are also responsibilities. The Nurse Executive ensures timely completion of performance evaluations and compliance with CMS standards.
