The Nurse Executive (Women's Health Clinic) is responsible for directing patient care by planning, organizing, directing, and reviewing work to ensure safe, quality, comprehensive, and evidence-based nursing care. This role involves assigning and directing tasks to staff, providing information and training, and identifying opportunities for improvement in patient care processes. The Nurse Executive also revises policies and procedures, ensures staff completion of ongoing education, and coordinates an interdisciplinary approach to patient care from admission to discharge. This position requires managing supplies and equipment, maintaining personal skill sets and licensure, planning work schedules, assessing and directing assignments to improve workflow, and conducting staff preparedness and contingency planning. Collaboration with the Clinical Education Department for orientation and training, designing and evaluating orientation and competency assessments, and ensuring staff compliance with mandatory in-services are key functions. The role also involves coordinating infection control and safety activities, assisting with action plans for safety concerns, participating in hospital committees, and preparing timely reports. Ensuring compliance with quality programs, CMS Conditions of Participation, and identifying client care improvements are critical. The Nurse Executive participates in the development and implementation of Standards of Care, facilitates resource utilization, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to improve healthcare outcomes. Supporting the implementation of clinical guidelines, managing the annual budget, and coordinating credentialing and performance evaluations are also part of the responsibilities. The position requires completing all yearly CMS required training and assisting with compliance with CMS standards.
