About The Position

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Under the general supervision of the applicable Manager, Director or Designate and in collaboration with the Program Teams, the incumbent is responsible for: Educational program development for: Diagnostic Imaging nurses and MRTs Diagnostic Imaging Support staff including U.A.s, N.A.s, clerks etc. Teaching and learning activities. Nursing practice standards. Patient education development. Professional and Self Development. Note: The priority and percentages of each of the above functions will vary throughout the year and possibly from year to year.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years recent related nursing experience with demonstrated competency in Critical Care or Emergency Care or Interventional Procedures.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (C.R.N.M.).
  • CPR at the Health Care Provider Level required.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in complex situations.
  • Evidence of knowledge of the principles of adult learning and teaching strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to function creatively and independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
  • Initiates and supports change.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Competency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation programs, required.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position.
  • May be required to wear lead protective apparel for periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in teaching, education and program development and evaluation is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Certificate or certification in a related specialty area preferred.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
