About The Position

Integritus Healthcare – Hillcrest Commons Nursing and Rehab Center is seeking a Nurse Educator to join their team. This facility offers a range of care options including Rehabilitation, Short-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, Specialized Memory Care, Respite, and Hospice. The Nurse Educator will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, documenting, and evaluating all educational programs for the Nursing Department, including on-the-job training. A key aspect of this role is the assimilation of new employees, ensuring competencies are completed timely and thoroughly, with necessary follow-up.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse Licensure in Massachusetts
  • Maintain current CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a current and valid Registered Nurse Licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Schedule, develop, and coordinate mandated in-service trainings for facility employees with other department directors.
  • Ensure mandatory in-servicing is completed timely and documented in accordance with State and Federal Regulations and accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate orientation of all new employees to meet State and Federal requirements and expectations of the IHC education department.
  • Use protective/safety equipment and interventions in accordance with facility policy and OSHA standards. Teach good practices to facility staff and promote a culture of safety.
  • Act as a resource person for all facility staff regarding personnel educational needs (e.g., infection control, abuse prevention, sensitivity).
  • Coordinate annual competency testing for nursing staff with input/assistance from nursing management, focusing on return demonstration to determine competency.
  • Provide coaching to assure ongoing competency and professional development.
  • Implement, coordinate, and support employees in career ladder educational paths in coordination with the facility management team and the IHC Education Department.
  • Attend educational in-services to maintain licensure and broaden knowledge base.
  • Encourage and influence staff to take advantage of educational programs and educate staff regarding available CEU programs.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.
  • Uphold the Residents' Bill of Rights and hold all resident information confidential.
  • Understand employee rights in accordance with HIPAA and hold all employee information confidential.
  • Recognize employees, educate and train employees, and promote employee growth to increase employee retention and satisfaction.
