About The Position

This position serves as a Nurse Clinician III in an outpatient setting at Victory Lakes Town Center. The role requires a proficient clinician with the knowledge and skills to meet the standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Texas Nurse Practice Act. The clinician will be experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled in their specialty area, functioning competently as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Practice is characterized by predominantly independent decision-making, problem-focused, and patient-centered care. The clinician must be able to manage unexpected or emergency situations commonly seen in the assigned specialty population and serve as a resource for Nurse Clinician I or II. They will manage commonly seen contingency situations on the clinical unit and provide patient care through nursing practices based upon the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance. The role also involves valuing specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.

Requirements

  • RN with two years of clinical RN experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
  • Current BLS required.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS preferred.
  • PACU/Sedation experience

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently and independently assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents the daily care of assigned patients.
  • Proficiently identifies patient care needs, formulates appropriate nursing diagnoses, develops and individualizes care plan, and revises plan of care as needed.
  • Proficiently executes physician's orders for all assigned patients.
  • Administers medications and treatments and delivers culturally congruent and specialty appropriate competent nursing care in accordance with UTMB's policies, procedures, and standards in a caring and compassionate manner.
  • Proficiently and independently performs routine and complex technical procedures/skills in assigned specialty area.
  • Special duties include performing stress tests, starting IV and assessment/management of cardiac and pulmonary patients.
