About The Position

Within the UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics, division of Hematology, our team is seeking a full-time Clinical Coordinator to join our team! This position functions as a clinical care coordinator for the bleeding disorder population throughout their lifespan. Must have RN licensure.

Requirements

  • RN licensure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
  • Registered Nurse with a current, valid Iowa RN license or eligible to become licensed in the state of Iowa.
  • Minimum of 1 years of nursing related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Internet.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates care with multiple disciplines during comprehensive clinic visits.
  • Develops and implements patient care plans based on diagnoses and planned surgeries or procedures.
  • Interacts with staff, patients, peers, and others in a professional and cooperative manner.
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining clinical expertise consistent with patient population requirements and current nursing and medical practice.
  • Provide health education to patients, family members, and fellow health care members.
  • Assist with once yearly outreach clinic to Amish population on a Saturday.
  • Assist with annual Hemophilia/Bleeding Disorder Camp.
