About The Position

The Nurse Assistant provides essential support to nursing staff by assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. The role contributes to patient comfort, safety, and quality of care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Requirements

• No education required.
• No prior work experience required; this is an entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Basic patient care skills.
• Ability to measure and record vital signs.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with nursing staff.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Ability to observe and report changes in patient condition.
• Commitment to patient safety, privacy, and infection control practices.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a nurse assistant, nursing aide, or in a healthcare setting.
• Active State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in Ohio, in good standing.
