About The Position
The Nurse Assistant provides care to patients according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role includes safely transporting patients by wheelchair or stretcher, dispatching services, documenting services, and providing in-person or remote video observation for patients assessed as needing constant observation to maximize safety. The Nurse Assistant also performs general receptionist and clerical duties to support efficient nursing-unit operations and documents care in the electronic medical record. The position is on 4 North, a 37-bed medical-surgical unit focused on stroke and neurology patients. The unit cares for patients with a wide range of complex disease processes and emphasizes learning, professional communication, and teamwork. The position is based at Troy Hospital.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
- Current CNA certification preferred.
Responsibilities
