About The Position
Corewell Health is hiring a Nurse Assistant for the 4 North Med Surg unit at Troy Hospital. The 37-bed medical-surgical unit focuses on stroke and neurology patients and cares for patients with a wide range of complex disease processes. The unit promotes learning, professional communication, and teamwork. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Nurse Assistant provides care according to the patient’s plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy. The role also includes safely transporting patients, providing observation services to patients assessed as needing constant observation, performing receptionist and clerical tasks, and documenting care in the electronic medical record. This is a part-time night-shift position, scheduled for 24 hours per week from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Days worked are Monday to Friday, with every third weekend required. Corewell Health is offering up to a $750 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
- Current CNA certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Safely transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services, and appropriately document services.
- Provide in-person or remote video observation for patients assessed to require constant observation, to maximize their safety.
- Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to support efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
- Document care provided in the electronic medical record.
