About The Position

The Nurse Assistant provides basic patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN, helping patients meet basic human needs and activities of daily living. After education, the role also performs additional Nurse Assistant II competencies to enhance patient care. The position combines clinical and clerical duties according to departmental needs. Clerical responsibilities include supporting nursing staff with daily patient care activities, preparing and maintaining medical records, transcribing and expediting physician orders, and functioning as a receptionist. The Nurse Assistant also helps maintain a safe and clean environment. The position reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire or completion during the new employee introductory orientation period, with clinical competency maintained throughout employment.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

Successful completion of a certified nursing assistant program is strongly preferred.
Nursing students who have completed a semester of clinicals may be considered.
