Nurse Assistant- Oncology
About The Position
The Nurse Assistant supports patient safety, comfort, and well-being under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). The role includes performing specific patient care duties, contributing input to patient care plans, and responding to emergent situations according to established procedures. The position is in the Oncology department at Henry Ford Health and is listed as full-time, 36 hours, on the day shift from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The department serves Macomb County and describes its facility as a high-acuity hub focused on exceptional patient care and a supportive environment for team members. The role also includes participating in continuing education and upholding Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (e.g., Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician), or current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course, or foreign training and licensure as an RN without a Michigan RN license, or completion of a Medical Assistant program with or without experience, or at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
- Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
