Nurse Assistant- Oncology
About The Position
The Nurse Assistant provides patient care at Henry Ford Health, helping ensure patients’ safety, comfort, and well-being. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the assistant performs specific patient care duties, contributes input to patient care plans, and responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. The role also involves participating in continuing education and upholding Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence. This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week position on the midnight shift, scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program, such as Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician; OR current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing; OR foreign-trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license; OR completion of a Medical Assistant program, with or without experience; OR at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
- Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
Nice To Haves
- CNA certification preferred.
