Nurse Assistant - Float Pool
About The Position
The Nurse Assistant at Henry Ford Health Providence Novi Hospital supports patient safety, comfort, and well-being under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role provides essential patient care, assists with care planning and implementation, and responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. The Nurse Assistant also participates in continuing education and upholds Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions. This is a contingent position on the days shift. The position is part of the Providence Hospitals team, serving communities across Oakland County.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (such as Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician); or current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing; or foreign-trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license; or completion of a Medical Assistant program, with or without experience; or at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
- Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
Nice To Haves
- CNA certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care duties to meet patients’ safety and comfort needs under RN supervision.
- Assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care.
- Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.
- Participate in continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
