Nurse Assistant - Med Surg/Telemetry
About The Position
The Nurse Assistant provides essential patient care to support patients’ safety, comfort, and well-being. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the role includes assisting with care planning and implementation and responding to emergent situations according to established procedures. The Nurse Assistant also participates in continuing education and upholds Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions. The position is based at Henry Ford Novi Hospital and is part-time, scheduled for 24 hours per week on a variable shift. The department is described as a supportive, collaborative environment serving communities across Oakland County.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program, such as Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician; OR current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing; OR foreign-trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license; OR completion of a Medical Assistant program, with or without experience; OR at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
- Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
Nice To Haves
- CNA certification preferred.
