About The Position
Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, the Nurse Assistant contributes to patient-centered care by performing selected day-to-day patient care activities and maintaining an environment that supports patient well-being. The role demonstrates unit- or area-designated competencies and interacts with patients in consideration of their developmental, age-specific, cultural, and spiritual preferences.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of job-related experience and/or training.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Performs specific patient care interventions delegated by the RN to help identify and attain treatment goals.
- Provides compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
- Provides physical support with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
- Ensures compliance with health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment and protects patients and employees by following infection-control, hazardous-waste, and other policies and protocols.
- Performs other related job duties as requested.
