About The Position
The Nurse Assistant I, Multispecialty Unit is a full-time position responsible for providing direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role involves performing special procedures, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, ensuring accurate communication of patient information, and providing age-appropriate care. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to manage competing demands, and basic computer proficiency. The work environment involves contact with various individuals, exposure to diseases and potential hazards, and frequent interruptions, requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Performs effectively with frequent workload changes and competing demands
- Basic computer skills
Responsibilities
- Participates in the implementation of the nursing process by giving direct care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Performs special procedures correctly under the direction of Registered Nurse (RN).
- Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, co-workers, and facility.
- Ensures complete, accurate and timely communication of patient information.
- Communicates to the team, co-workers, patients and family members in an effective, positive and professional manner.
- Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
- Provides age/developmental appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
