About The Position

The Nurse Assistant I provides direct patient care in the Multispecialty Unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). The role supports the nursing process, performs special procedures as directed, maintains a safe and therapeutic environment, and communicates patient information accurately and promptly. Care must be appropriate to the age and developmental needs of the patients served.

This is a full-time day position scheduled for three 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. The position has 35.2 hours per week and is benefits eligible.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the State Registry in which the team member practices.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform effectively amid frequent workload changes and competing demands.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse as part of the nursing process.
• Perform special procedures correctly under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Create and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, coworkers, and the facility.
• Ensure complete, accurate, and timely communication of patient information.
• Communicate effectively, positively, and professionally with the care team, coworkers, patients, and family members.
• Take personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth, and development.
• Provide age- and developmentally appropriate patient care in accordance with the guidelines for the age groups served.
