About The Position

The Nurse Assistant / Health Unit Coordinator supports patient care and unit operations in the Emergency Room by providing direct assistance to patients with daily living activities and performing essential administrative and clerical functions. The role supports effective communication, accurate record keeping, and a safe, organized environment for patients and staff. The employee performs other duties as assigned and carries out all job responsibilities in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Requirements

• No education is required.
• Six months of experience in patient care or administrative support in a healthcare setting, or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within three months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient care or administrative support.
• Health Unit Coordinator certification.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in Ohio.
• Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) and active status on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry.
