You’ll prepare patients for anesthesia by reviewing vitals, labs, and monitoring needs, and you’ll be ready to jump into action for emergency responses. Requirements
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA); or Eligibility for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Successful completion of an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
- As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) within twelve (12) months of their appointment to this title.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional anesthesia care—from pre-op assessments to post-op follow-ups.
- Prepare patients for anesthesia by reviewing vitals, labs, and monitoring needs.
- Be ready to jump into action for emergency responses.
- Serve as faculty or a preceptor for graduate student nurse anesthetists.
