About The Position

At Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, CRNAs are empowered to exercise significant clinical autonomy while practicing within a collaborative, team-based model. You will develop individualized anesthesia plans grounded in your expert assessment and clinical judgment, working in partnership with anesthesiologists who are readily available to provide support and guidance as needed. This dynamic fosters a culture of mutual respect and trust, where CRNAs’ expertise is recognized as integral to delivering safe, high-quality perioperative care. Versatile and specialized care settings Our facility offers a versatile and well-equipped surgical environment, featuring twelve first-floor operating rooms alongside four additional ORs on the sixth floor—designed to accommodate a wide array of surgical procedures. The post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) includes four bays and hosts specialized sessions twice weekly for cardioversion, endotracheal tube management, and electrophysiology studies. The hospital also boasts two dedicated ERCP rooms and four gastrointestinal colonoscopy suites, with anesthesia coverage extending occasionally into interventional radiology procedures. Within this diverse clinical landscape, CRNAs provide expert anesthesia care across multiple specialties, including: Gastroenterology (GI) General surgery Interventional radiology Orthopedics Plastics and Reconstructive surgery

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Nurse Anesthesia Practitioner required
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist [CRNA (NBCRNA)] - National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) required
  • Mass Registered Nurse preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Experience as a CRNA or New Graduate 0-1 year preferred
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics and pharmacology as related to anesthesia.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence within the scope of clinical practice standards set by the department.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-based care setting, with the ability to work independently as well as in a care team to deliver high quality care.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to work with surgeons and staff in a variety of cases and environments. Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
  • Ability to keep up with up to date best practices in the field of anesthesia.
  • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
