Requirements
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
- Ability to perform essential job functions
- Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
Responsibilities
- Check and record vital signs, height, and weight, and collect various medical specimens
- Assist inmates with bathing, hygiene tasks, dressing, eating, position changes, and safe movement
- Escort wheelchair inmates to medical areas, assist with restraints, follow infection control rules, and document care
- Record and retrieve information in the electronic health record and complete required written reports
- Maintain a clean workspace, report hazards, and follow agency and facility procedures
- Sterilize equipment, manage inventories, and maintain adequate stock levels
