Riverside's Nurse Aide Program is designed to transition new hires from Hospitality Assistants to fully licensed Certified Nurse Aides. Participants will begin as Hospitality Assistants in a labor pool status, working as needed until their scheduled course begins. This is an accelerated 4-week program that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to pass the CNA boards. Classes are full-time, day shift, and participants are paid for all course and clinical hours. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the Virginia Board of Nursing – Nurse Aide exam, graduates will move into a full-time or part-time CNA position at the hiring location. Full-time CNA positions require a 12-month work commitment, and part-time positions require an 18-month work commitment upon graduation. The work commitment must be fulfilled within a Lifelong Health facility (skilled rehab, long term care, or assisted living). Positions in home health or acute care are not eligible for this program. Graduates can receive reimbursement for costs associated with registering for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam to achieve CNA designation.
