About The Position

The Nurse Abstractor reviews scanned medical records, identifies risk factors, and keeps new-patient information updated for future visits. The role reviews clinic referrals, gathers records, and assigns them to the correct center. Serving as a clinical subject matter expert, the Nurse Abstractor uses advanced critical thinking and nursing knowledge to manage complex scheduling for hospital patients across Saint Luke’s. This is a self-directed role requiring the ability to work autonomously while serving as a primary agent for patient safety and customer service.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse.
• RN licensure in Missouri and Kansas.
• Associate degree.
• Two years of applicable experience.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in neurology or clinical data abstraction.
