About The Position
The Nucleic Acids R&D co-op is responsible for supporting the development, optimization, and integration of RNA-focused unit operations through experimental execution, data generation, and technical documentation. This position reports to the Manager and is part of the Nucleic Acids R&D team located in Vancouver and will be an on-site role.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, Biotechnology, or Biochemistry
- Analytical, ability to interpret data, and troubleshoot issues.
- Must be a proactive, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- The individual must be a team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
Nice To Haves
- Basic understanding of RNA.
- Familiarity with unit operations such as chromatography, Tangential flow filtration, formulation.
- Experience/familiarity of techniques such as nucleic acid and protein purification, enzyme kinetics, gel electrophoresis.
Responsibilities
- Support optimization of end-to-end process workflows for RNA-based therapeutics and related applications.
- Assist in process development and scale-up activities, including upstream and downstream operations.
- Contribute to integration and improvement of RNA manufacturing steps to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Prepare technical documentation including SOPs, reports, and presentations.
- Assist with day-to-day lab operations and perform other duties as assigned.
