The Cell Biology R&D Co-op for Cytiva will be responsible for evaluating the biological activity of lipid nanoparticles in cell-based assays. They will design and perform experiments (with input from supervisor) to support internal research and product development projects. This position is part of the Cytiva Nanomedicine R&D team located in Vancouver, B.C. and will be on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a BSc program in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Applied Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Nano- or Bio-Engineering or a related Life Sciences program.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment and completion of at least one previous co-op assignment.
  • Experience with cell culture techniques and cell-based assays

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with primary cells and nucleic acids
  • Experience with cell and molecular biology techniques such as flow cytometry, western blot and ELISA

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of novel lipid nanoparticles by evaluating biological activity within cell-based assays.
  • Assist in the routine care and maintenance of various cell culture systems.
  • Perform routine validation studies and development of new cell-based assays.
  • Prepare experimental plans, reports and technical presentations.

Benefits

  • The annual salary range for this role is 40k-50k CAD/year
