Requirements
- Three years of professional experience in nuclear systems safety analysis involving Boiling Water Reactors or Pressurized Water Reactors, and a bachelor’s degree in nuclear, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, structural or environmental engineering, or in engineering technology; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities
- Conduct independent assessments of assigned nuclear power plants
- Participate in Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspections to verify that all regulatory requirements are met
- Review reports on nuclear safety and environmental impacts to identify important findings
- Take part in emergency drills to maintain the ability to assess plant conditions during events
- Inspect low-level radioactive waste packaging and transportation activities
- Provide support to staff, prepare reports, and assist with training and public education
