Performs routine to moderately complex Nuclear Medicine examination procedures utilizing SPECT, SPECT/CT and PET/CT. This role requires knowledge of Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations, medical sciences related to human anatomy and physiology, radioactive materials handling, and radiation safety practices. The technologist is responsible for the quality and quantity of exams performed, minimizing patient dosage, and ensuring patient understanding of procedures and potential hazards. The role may also involve monitoring vital signs, recognizing allergic reactions, initiating CPR, maintaining cleanliness and supplies, reporting equipment malfunctions, and working cooperatively with colleagues to support organizational missions.
