Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Full Time - Mid-Shift
About The Position
Nuclear Medicine plays a key role in providing patients with healthy, healing outcomes at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The team diagnoses and treats rare and deeply embedded conditions, offering high-tech, highly compassionate care. This role is part of the close-knit Nuclear Medicine team, working with dynamic colleagues and a diverse in-patient population covering Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology. The technologist will be immersed in a full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic care, assisting with the evaluation of a wide range of medical conditions. Responsibilities include handling, preparing, administering, and disposing of sensitive radiopharmaceuticals, performing quality control, and following aseptic technique standards. The role also involves obtaining and distributing medical records and collaborating with radiology physicians.
Requirements
- New York State Nuclear Medicine License from the Department of Health
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology Program or A.S. or B.S. Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology
Nice To Haves
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board CT NMTCB (CT)
- Prior experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- IV insertion/Isotope injection
- Prior experience working with GE equipment
Responsibilities
- Handle, prepare, administer and dispose of sensitive radiopharmaceuticals.
- Perform quality control.
- Follow aseptic technique standards to ensure patient and colleague safety.
- Obtain and distribute medical records as needed.
- Collaborate with leading radiology physicians to provide integrated and expert evaluation of each patient.
